What to Do If Alhambra Tickets are Sold Out? Other Ways to Gain EntryWhen the tickets to the Alhambra are sold out, there are 6 other ways to get an entry.
Option 1 - Buy Another Type of EntranceWhen the tickets to the Alhambra are sold out you can buy another type of admission ticket.
There are 5 other types of entrance: 1) Generalife and Alcazaba, 2) Night Visit to Nazard Palaces, 3) Night Visit to Generalife, 4) Alhambra Experience, 5) Combined Visit.
Some of these entrances include only the Generalife (summer palace and gardens, rest area of the kings), and the Alcazaba (fortifications), and other only night visit the Nasrid Palaces (several main interior palaces), but at least you can see a part of the Alhambra.
Either of these options is cheaper than buying a guided tour or Granada Card.
These tickets can be purchased on the same official Granada’s tourism borad website where the general entrances are sold.
Combined VisitWhen the general entrances to the Alhambra are sold out, you should first check if there are any combined visits left.
It is the only entrance of these five that includes the day visit to the Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba and Generalife.
It is the General Visit + Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation. The price of this visit is only a little bit higher than of the general ticket.
And Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation is a beautiful place, well worth a visit. But these tickets can also be sold out quickly.
Alhambra Experience VisitWhen the Alhambra tickets are sold out the second best option is to buy the Alhambra Experience entrance, which includes the night visit to the Nasrid Palaces, and the day visit to the Alcazaba and the Generalife on two consecutive days.
With this option we can see everything in the Alhambra complex, but the Nazrid Palaces at night. If you choose this option you have to sleep in Granada one night.
Night Visit to Nasrid PalacesThis option includes only the visit to the Nasrid Palaces at night. You cannot visit the Alcazaba or the Generalife. It offers another prospective of the palace.
The area assigned to the night visit is a lot smaller than the day visit. Try to come early, the queues could be long.
This option is for people who prefer to see the Nasrid Palaces rather than the rest of the Alhambra site ... or have no other choice.
Visit Generalife and AlcazabaThis entrance includes the Alcazaba, the Partal and its Palace (the remains of the residence of Sultan Yusuf III) and the Generalife gardens.
It does not include the Nasrid Palaces, but you can see the rest of the Alhambra complex.
This option is for people who prefer to see the Generalife and the Alcazaba rather than the Nasrid Palaces... or have no other choice.
Visit to the GeneralifeThere are two entrance types to the gardens: the day and night visit. These visits include only the Generalife gardens. It does not include the Nasrid Palaces or the Alcazaba.

Option 2 - Buy Dobla de OroWhat is Dobla de Oro? Dobla de Oro is a combined ticket that allows you to visit the Alhambra and 5 key monuments located in the Albaicín.
This ticket if valid for three days, so you can visit these monuments one day before or after the date you see the Alhambra.
This touristic route has been designed to link the Alhambra with the Albaicín in a historic journey that will give you a glimpse of how life was in the city of Granada outside the Alhambra walls during the Nasrid period.
Through these monuments, that were the place of residency of very important families, you will see the transformation that Granada underwent after the conquest by the Caholic Monarchs.
Dobla de Oro includes a visit the whole monumental complex of the Alhambra (the Nasrid Palaces, Alcazaba and Generalife Gardens) and these monuments:
1. Bañuelo: one of the oldest and best preserved Arab public baths in Spain.
2. Dar al-Horra Palace: it was the official residence of Aixa la-Horra, mother of the last Emir of Granada: Muhammad XII, known as Boabdil.
3. Casa del Chapiz: it belonged to two Arab families who became new Christians when the city was conquered. Like most of these houses, it has beautiful gardens with views of the Alhambra. See more info »
4. Casa Horno de Oro: a typical Nasrid stately home, which was transformed in the 16th century.
5. Casa de Zafra: a Nasrid palace built at the end of the XIV century. It was given to the Catholic Monarchs’ secretary, Hernando de Zafra. See more info »
The Dobla de Oro route includes the visit to Corral del Carbón, although this monument offers free admission.
Dobla de Oro tickets cost 20,84 euros, 6 euros more than the Alhambra tickets.
However, it includes some very interesting monuments and it is an alternative way to get tickets to the Alhambra when they have already sold out.
Where to Buy Dobla de Oro TicketsYou can buy the Alhambra tickets at https://tickets.alhambra-patronato.es/
Option 3 - Buy Granada CardAnother option to get an entry to the Alhambra when the tickets are sold out is to buy the Granada Card at one of the official sale points in Granada or online.
Granada Card includes the General Alhambra entrance, the entrance to other main monuments in Granada, free trips on the urban buses and one trip on the tourist train.
The card is a good option, we get the entrance to the Alhambra and visit other 10 monuments.
And if we do not have time or do not want to visit so many monuments? Well, we visit the Alhambra and those that interest us the most. If we only visit 70% of the monuments, we compensate the investment.
In high season, the tickets to the Alhambra can be sold out, but the Granada Card guarantees you the entrance.
Keep in mind that the Granada Cards can also be sold out, especially in high season and holidays, but it's worth a try.
See detailed information in Granada Card.
Where to Buy Granada CardYou can buy Granada Card at https://granadatur.clorian.com/es/
Option 4 - Buy Pernocta CardThe Bono Pernocta (overnight) is similar to the normal Granada Card (it is a modality of this card) but you have to stay in Granada for at least two nights to be able to acquire it.
Ask the accommodation (can be a hotel or an apartment) if they offer this card before booking.
Some hotels charge some extra fee and others raise the price of the rooms, so ask.
Option 5 - Buy at the Last MomentWait for a cancellation. There is a possibility that there will be a release of tickets starting from 00:00 on the same day due to the cancellation of group or guided visits.
Just go to the official sales site at 00:01 and check.
It is a risky strategy, there is no guarantee than you will get the tickets.
Option 6 - Buy a Guided TourWhen there are no tickets left for the Alhambra you can also book a guided tour. There are several companies that sell Alhambra tours, the price ranges between 35 and 50 euros.
It is for people who want to visit the monument and learn from professional guides. It is not the same to read a book as to have a guide explaining all the details within the Alhambra.
More information in Granada Tours.
Option 7 - See a Free Part of the Alhambra ComplexIf none of the above options is available, there are different palaces, gardens and gates in the Alhambra which you can see without an entrance.

Opinions about Alhambra Tickets Sold Out
No tickets leftA month and a half before my visit to the Alhambra there are no more tickets left. The options given here helped me a lot, but still everything was sold out. I bought the granada card. Other option was to buy expensive guided tour, for children 49 euros, its too expensive.
