Huerta de San Vicente in Granada - Park, Gardens and Lorca Museum
Huerta de San Vicente is an important place in the formation of Federico Garcia Lorca as a poet.
Former family home, his parents bought this house on the outskirts of Granada,
where were located the orchards of the Vega.
These places that are the border between city and countryside, from the time of the Arabs served as summer
residence, where Federico returned to find their roots. Here he wrote many of his best works
(Romacero Gitano, La Casa de Bernarda Alba) in the summers of 1926 to 1936.

Today the building is Garcia Lorca House-Museum, which presents the poet's
original objects, drawings, manuscripts, furniture and paintings.
Federico Garcia Lorca Museum maintains its structure and furnishings as when the poet lived.
The building is a construction of the early twentieth century with a simple structure and decoration,
typical of this type of houses in the Vega of Granada. This type of houses are perfect for keeping the temperature
cool inside and at nights they are pleasantly warm.
